-
Captain Ricky
Captain Ricky has worked for the Department of Land & Natural Resources at Mānele Harbor, and as captain for Trilogy Excursions catering to Four Season's guests for over 18 years. His experience in and out of the water makes him one of the best-rounded and respected watermen on Lāna‘i. He recently completed the delivery of our newest vessel Lāna‘i II from Newport Beach to Lāna‘i. On the trip he was nicknamed the “fish killer,” assuring nobody went hungry, and almost landed a 500lb Marlin.

Her background is marine biology, and she is currently our head dive instructor. Her favorite Hawaiian island to dive off is Lāna‘i of course! Her favorite place in the world that she has been diving is the Philippines. When she's not working, she enjoys creating gyotaku fish prints and shell jewelry.

Captain Dustin
Captain Dustin has worked for Trilogy for a total of 19 years and Lāna‘i Ocean Sports for three. He is one of our most skilled captains and is also scuba certified and working his way to his advanced certification. His favorite trip to drive is the snorkel sail. He was born and raised on the island of Lāna‘i and his knowledge for the island is unparalleled. He also worked for Expeditions Ferry for six years. Captain Dustin is hardworking, consistent and well rounded. When he's not working, you can find him out on the water diving or in the mountains hunting.

Martin
Martin has been a valued crew member for over 18 years with Lāna‘i Ocean Sports and Trilogy. He was born and raised in the Marshal islands and moved to Hawai‘i with his wife to raise his family on Lāna‘i. He has also worked for Expeditions ferry for over five years prior to working with LOSM. Martin is an amazing guide when it comes to snorkel tours and many returning guests ask about Martin and comment how comical he is. Martin would like to say, " I'm here along with the captains and crew to share the love of the ocean with you all."

Captain Chris
Captain Chris began working as a captain for Lāna‘i Ocean Sports over two years ago when he moved from O‘ahu to Lāna‘i. Before the move, he worked as a rescue swimmer, boat operator and technician for a deep-water submersible team researching precious coral where he had the opportunity to co-pilot a submarine to 2,300 feet. Originally from the East Coast, he grew up an avid racer of dinghies, small keelboats, and catamarans, which led him to become a U.S. sailing instructor. He has logged more than 40,000 offshore sailing miles.

Atreyu
Atreyu (Trey for short) was born and raised on the island of Lāna‘i. Trey says, "I'm doing what I love to do, working with guests on the ocean is prime for me. I learn something new every day and meet new people around the world. I hope to be a Captain soon, there aren't too many on the island of Lāna‘i. I would like to start a trend and be a role model for keiki (children) here like Dustin and Ricky were for us when we were young." In his free time, Trey loves to fish along the shoreline for dinner and he also enjoys hunting for Axis deer.
-
Dominador
You can call him Jr for short. Jr has been with Lāna‘i Ocean Sports for over three years now as a deck hand and aspires to be an upcoming captain in the future. Jr also is a captain of his own boat, and you can find him out fishing during his free time with his wife and triplets… yeah you heard that right, TRIPLETS! Junior moved to Lāna‘i from the Philippines many years ago and says Lāna‘i is one of a kind. He would also like to share a safety tip for all future travelers to have fun but most importantly be safe.
-
Joemar
Joemar is one of our newest crew members. He's absorbed so much in this past year. He was born and raised on the island of Lāna‘i and is determined to build his boating career by obtaining his captain license. Prior to working with Lāna‘i Ocean Sports Joemar had his own business as a painter. Joemar says, "The best part about work is the fishing charters and meeting people from all over the world. Also, the opportunities for me to learn about boats and mechanical work."

Zeth Kipi
Zeth developed a deep love for the land, beaches, and the rich culture of his island home. His connection to the ocean runs deep, having grown up surrounded by the beauty of the water. After high school, Zeth began his journey by cleaning up the land and beaches, working to preserve the natural beauty of Lāna'i.
He later moved to Maine, where he honed his skills working on boats for lobster harvest. Returning to Lāna'i, Zeth brought his newfound expertise back to the island, starting his career on the boats. Today, he applies the skills he developed in Maine to his role with Lāna'i Ocean Experiences, furthering his passion for the ocean and his commitment to the community he loves.
